John Mulstay was born in Wantagh NY.

John graduated from the State University of New York at Oneonta with a Bachelors of Science degree and a major in Business and Economics. John wrestled for the University until falling in love with the sport of snowboarding. Upon graduation, John moved to Colorado to pursue his passion for snowboarding and eventually founded Team Summit Snowboarding at Copper Mountain. Team Summit continues to thrive and remains one of the largest organized snowboard teams in the country with several of the young adults from that program now competing for the US Snowboard team.

In 1995 John began his career with Morgan Stanley as a financial advisor. It was at this position where he met Harry and Eva Puksta. John served as an advisor to Harry and Eva Puksta and, as such, assisted with their estate planning. As per the wishes of Harry and Eva Puksta, John created the Puksta Foundation when they passed away in July of 1999. John continues to manage the day-to-day affairs of the foundation and serves as its executive director. The foundation began gifting in 2001 and now proudly has 32 Colorado students pursuing a college education and developing a commitment to community engagement.

John now focuses his practice at Morgan Stanley on working with corporate executives as well as foundations and endowments. At Morgan Stanley, John has obtained the designation of Wealth Advisor and specializes in custom tailoring investment portfolios.
