Amanda Butler (Parker)

University of Colorado Denver - 2016

For her Puksta project, Amanda directed the first ever Colorado Prison Arts Festival which was held May 27-29, 2016 in Denver, Colorado. The fest was a free collaborative event showcasing the work of imprisoned artists from around the nation. This three-day exhibition of art and programs lent a voice—outside the prison walls—to incarcerated men, women, and youth through poetry, music, linguistic expression, dance, and visual art. Amanda’s social justice internship was with the National Association of Counsel for Children and she currently serves as the Program/Grant Manager for the Colorado Juvenile Defender Center’s Access to Justice project.
